Our Story
The story behind JobCred is the same story that we all see unfolding every day in the labour market, with our friends, our colleagues and ourselves. It is our belief that we can make the labour market work better, by providing time-efficient and effective Web 2.0 tools to professionals and employers.
When designing and delivering these tools, we are guided by our own values: Flexibility, Credibility and Privacy.
We see three main flaws in the current recruitment market:
- As experienced managers and employers ourselves, we see that even though unemployment is rising, companies still have trouble finding the right qualified people for the positions they have available. Companies who advertise their vacancies get overwhelmed by the amount of responses and potential employees get frustrated by poor or no responses to their applications. Finding the right candidate amongst all these applications is often a daunting and time consuming task.
- We also see too little mobility in the labour market place. Experienced professionals, who have done a very good job for quite a few years, might be ready to move to a next challenge. However they choose to spend their energy and time on their current job rather than applying for positions they are interested in and qualified for. Everyday great career opportunities pass by dedicated professional simply because they're not prepared to apply! It's happened to us… by the time you find your old CV, or spend a few days updating it, the opportunity has passed. Many people don't even bother grabbing the opportunity, claiming the application process would be too stressful or time-consuming.
- Finally, we see that the Web 2.0 technology has enabled social networks which help people to connect, promote themselves and interact like never before. However, even the best of these networks do not enable recruiters to connect with the very best candidates. The personal and professional information that is provided on social networks most likely becomes public information. This is a major turn-off for professionals at the top of their game.
